Life is funny... sort of. Mostly because if we don't laugh at the irony, it'll make us crazy -- and this moving thing has me going NUTS! <LOL> ha-ha-ha-ha. Guffah-guffah-guffah! <sigh>
And what's with meeting new friends, forging new relationships and then having to leave them behind? Why do we meet the really interesting ones (mcb ;-) just before we move on....? dammit! ;-) For that matter, why do we have to leave behind our oldest and dearest friends.... and family (of course, that was a long time ago. )
During major life upheavals (like moving), we reflect on our past, on what we've seen and done -- or not done. In my case I find that I regret losing touch with so many friends over the years. I ponder at how little time I make to spend with my closest friends... my local family-away-from-family relationships. It saddens me....
My gravestone will likely read something like: "Here lies Tom. He used to be our friend, but he lost touch with us. Now it's too late to make it right."
Wow... sobering...
On the up-side, I've met so many wonderful people since I've been here.... If only I could bring everyone with me.... ;-)
Observations, thoughts, rants, raves and other stuff: little bits of my life exposed to the glaring light of the Internet.

Well, here I sit.... at work... at 8:50 in the evening.... :-(
This is what I get for deciding to change jobs. The project where I am now is high priority, and had been dragging on for quite sometime. I'm on the verge of finishing a major delieveable, and it I can pull it off tonight, the customer will be ecstatic.
The customer found out, accidentally, that I was leaving and they just didn't take to it very kindly....
It occurs to me, though, that it's never a good time to leave, and they were looking for someone before I came around.
<sigh....>
Such is life. Consultants are whipping boys (and girls). It wouldn't matter when I leave, the customer still wouldn't be happy about it.
Though, I must admit that this is very bad timing....
...but is there a really ever a good time to leave????

I rediscovered Dr. Demento today.
It's been a long time since I listened to that show. If you've never heard him, it's definitely worth a listen. It's funny -- and definitely not "PC"
